Ahoy Readers "Uncle Paulie's Kenai“ is back. A fond welcome from owner operators Jessica and Dustin Russell of Russell fishing company and all the crew. If you are ready for some awesome fishing, welcome to the Kenai Peninsula. Fishing on the Kenai and Kasilof rivers has been spectacular. Captain Zak has been ultra productive on the ocean vessel Miss Patience out of Homer, reeling in some big halibut and several kings in Cook inlet. The last 2 weeks in May on the Kenai fulfilled clients wishes with keeper kings, while the Kasilof produced an abundance of Chinook landed by Capt.s' Dane, Jordy , Austin , and Bill “Pops “ Russell. Early sockeye were also hooked on the Kasilof.
Capt. Brian piloted one of the 7 powerboats Russell Fishing provides on the Kenai River with very successful hauls of Kings. When trout season opened, in June the middle of the Kenai was clear and a beautiful turquoise color. The river also was willing to offer rainbow trout to fly fishermen as well as draggers and spinning rods. Cap't. Glenn, Brian, Dane all guided their charters to big numbers and even bigger fish. In splendid weather, to a bounty of bows. Yours truly had great time fishing on fun trips with some of the crew and all caught some rainbow trout over 24 inches. A few dollys were caught and released too.
Projections are for a great season of fishing and Russell Fishing Company is ready and happy to provide all with every requirement ... lodging, gear, bait, raingear, waders and guided fishing charters.
