Great news... the State of Alaska is ending the 14-day quarantine effective 6/5. Moreover, the state has opened up and the only suggestion is for social distancing, and if appropriate, wear a face covering when indoors in public places (not mandatory).
However, you will have to be tested in your departure city within 72 hours of arriving in Alaska and obviously test negative. If you don't have the test and fill out the appropriate forms to hand into the government employees upon arrival, you will be tested at the airport, possibly creating a delay. Many states are offering public testing, but if you need to please request a test through your doctor. We all would agree this may be a bit inconvenient, but it will be worth it because you can then enjoy Alaska unrestricted and with peace of mind.
At this point, we have staffed our lodges and guides/captains based on the current reservations and since there is now no quarantine, we will be revising our postponement policy.
If someone tests positive or has a doctor's note "prohibiting" travel, that person can postpone without penalty. Any other postponements will be charged a 10% penalty and will have to pay any price increase from our fly in subcontractor in 2021 (if you have scheduled a fly-in). You will have to be paid in full as well.
This is an unusual year for all of us, and we have been very cooperative and forthcoming with our policies.
Please check Governor Dunleavy's website for regular updates and details. The 72-hour window may be widened. We look forward to seeing you soon.
