A Day of Clam Digging in Ninilchik

6/4/2012

All visitors to Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula can enjoy digging for Razor Clams at anytime during the summer and we took a group out clamming in Ninilchik this weekend.  Access to this public beach is 4-Wheel Drive only - which is nice. Not only can your Alaska trip include boats and planes related to your fishing adventures but also some off-roading! Razor Clams are a delicious member of the Mollusk family, known for their size and their flavor especially when diced for clam chowder or cut in strips and fried.

Fired up the Badger for nice day out on the saltwater at Cook Inlet. This is Alaska fishing in May. Caught a couple of early season kings, some halibut and had an awesome day. If you're on your way up here this year, get ready, because 2012 fishing season has begun! Keep following us as we update you on all the fun . . .
