Today I went south to the Clearwater. Its a tributary of the queets. Nice river, beautiful. It is also a snaggy bastard. I haven't been there in a couple years so it was a little foggy, and fishy. We hooked a bunch of fish, I'm not sure how many but at one point we had six on and running, we broke a couple off, some just came off, it was weird, but any way we only had one landed. Sadness. But at the end of the day we landed 10 or so, but we lost allot of fish. Today was a 20 fishday, it just didn't work out for us today. It was a good time. Starting to realize that I have 34 more days of this. Livin the dream, Livin the dream.
Man today was crowded. The worst I have ever seen here. There was at least 10 at every put in on every river on the peninsula. Still doesn't add up to some of those busy days on the Chetco back home, but still sadness. We got a late start, my guys didn't get into town until 3 am, so I let em sleep. We got on the river at 10, and ended up landing 8. It was fine, we only fished till 5:30, so it was great. Lots of boats ahead of us, so I was thrilled with that. Tomorrow we are going to the clearwater, hour south, hope to find a quiet crowd. Still living the dream
Well I'm back in forks, its ok, its going to be a long haul. I have 5 weeks here, so at some point I will miss the wife and kids. Right now not so much, Fishing is great. Got 14 yesterday, 15 today, and a house to my self. Living the dream boys and girls, living the dream. I Fished the Bogachiel Yesterday, behind 10 boats, 10. Thats a pile, didnt matter still smacked em. Most the guys ahead of me were float fishing, or plugs, what ever. Thank god the dudes up here cant fish. They leave plenty for us to catch. The water right now is perfect, and we are getting beat on at home, go figure. Any way glad to be here and hope it keeps up. I hope we dont get beat down buy the weather. I would love nothing more than to fish the next 36 days in a row with nubers like the past two. I'm on cloud nine.
